HIKING & RAFTING - GLACIER NATIONAL PARK, MONTANA
July 3 - 11, 2004
$1280
Ken Kaufman, Leader

This 1,000,000 acre park straddling the Continental Divide contains one of the last intact ecosystems in the lower 48. All the large predator and prey animals are still here; bears, wolves, mountain lions, moose, elk, deer, sheep, goats. 7-12 mile guided hikes over elevations of 5-7000 feet will give us the greatest opportunities to view spectacular scenery and wildlife. We will travel the length of the Going to the Sun Highway. Also included is a two day raft trip on the Flathead River.

Accommodations include two nights at the famous Granite Park Chalet, a 7 1/2 mile hike in from the road and from where grizzlies can often be viewed from the deck, one night camping on the river (all equipment provided), two nights in rustic cabins and three in motels. Trip cost of $1280 ($100 non-refundable) per person, double occupancy,  also includes 14 meals, guides, ground transportation from Whitefish, MT, and all fees. Leader: Ken Kaufman, 123 Jordan Street, Skaneateles, NY 13152, 315-685-7456, E-mail KaufmanPE@a-znet.com.
