SEPTEMBER 5 - 18, 2010
$1675
Jack & Shelley Finnegan, Leaders
rockies4 TRIP IS NOW FULL - IT MAY BE OFFERED AGAIN IN 2011 - PLEASE CONTACT LEADERS IF INTERESTED.

Many words have been used to describe The Canadian Rockies. My word of choice, is majestic—a land of seemingly endless proud glaciated alpine peaks. It is simply a magical place. Of all my mountain travel, the Canadian Rockies are unquestionably my favorite. We invite you to come see what we mean.

Join us, Jack and Shelley Finnegan and other ADKers, for thirteen days in the Majestic Canadian Rockies. This itinerary has it all, making for a trip of a lifetime. We will experience the breathtaking sights of Banff and Lake Louise, a visit to an alpine teahouse, the Icefields Parkway—the premier drive in North America, the wildlife of the Jasper area where the elk will be in rut, a soak at the Miette Hot Spring, and a visit to the Columbia Ice Field Athabasca Glacier. And these are only the highlights.

Please note that your leader personally scouted this itinerary in September 2002 and has successfully led similar ADK trips to this same location in 2004 and 2005. Each day’s activities are carefully chosen to compliment the totality of the trip. Participants will be limited to fourteen, including your leader, so please register early.

Outing Cost: $1675.00 per participant.

Payment Policy
A deposit of $500.00 is due at the time of registration. The remaining balance of $1175.00 is due no later than June 1, 2010.

Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel the trip at any time, an $85.00 ADK registration fee is non-refundable. The balance of the deposit is fully refundable up to June 1, 2010. After June 1, 2010, no refunds are possible unless your space can be filled from a waiting list. However, if ADK cancels the trip or if in the opinion of the leader, this trip is not for you, the full amount will be refunded.

Accommodations
Our accommodations are definitely a highlight of our trip. All of these accommodations will be double occupancy, two people in each room. Each of our locations will have either an indoor heated pool or an outdoor hot-tub, so please bring your bathing suit.

The first and last night’s of our tour will be spent at the Holiday Inn Calgary Airport. This inn is a full service hotel that was completely renovated in 2006, located just 8 miles south of the Calgary airport.

For nights 2-7 we will enjoy The Lake Louise Inn, a modern mountain resort, nestled in a picturesque setting near the Pipestone River. Situated in five buildings, the 247 room resort has everything that we will need and more. Amenities include a heated indoor pool, whirlpool, steam room, gift shop/newsstand, arcade, and even a Laundromat. There are also several restaurants located within the Inn.

On nights 8-12, we will be staying at my personal favorite, Patricia Lake Bungalows. Located just 5 minutes from Jasper townsite at the end of a private road alongside beautiful Patricia Lake, these bungalows are sure to please. Each of these cottages is equipped with a gas fireplace and a full kitchen. Amenities include an on-site Laundromat, bicycle rental, boat rentals, and some bar-b-ques for outdoor dining, an open fire area, and even an outdoor hot-tub.

While meals are not covered in the cost of this trip, except as noted below, each of our lodging locations except Calgary will have refrigerators. Actually in Jasper we will have full kitchens. We will have the expediency and cost savings of having our light breakfast and packing our trail lunches right from the comfort of our rooms. In Jasper, one could actually cook in if they so desired. We will have access to food markets and restaurants.
