Austrian Hiking Adventure: Hike Stubai Alps In Tyrol
July 10 - 23, 2011
$1850

Terry A. Peters, Leader
Trip Itinerary

HIKE DESCRIPTIONS:

Here are some brief descriptions of hikes. The first three days are acclimatization hikes somewhat shorter and lower altitude. Then we'll progress to higher, longer hikes. The altitude of the hikes will vary from 3500 ft. to 8500 ft, except for the day we ride the lift up to the Jochdohle (highest restaurant in Austria) on the Stubai Glacier which takes us up to 10,333 ft. Weather, group condition and group wishes will determine which hikes we actually take on any given day.

Once we're acclimatized, we will start with intermediate hikes and then to advanced intermediate hikes each day. The intermediate hikes will range from 4 to 6 hours, with total elevation changes (ups and downs combined) of 2000 to 3000 ft. The advanced intermediate day hikes will range from 5 to 11 hours in length, with elevation changes up to 3500 ft. If you have any concerns, or are not feeling up to par one day, ask me for alternative routes or entire hikes or take a day off.

NOTE: THE LISTED DAY’S HIKE MAY BE ON ANOTHER DAY DUE TO WEATHER AND HIKING ABILITIES. WE CAN’T HOLD TO THIS ITINERARY EXACTLY EVERY DAY. HIKING TIMES DO NOT INCLUDE REST STOPS.
