HIKING HUT TO HUT IN THE WHITE MOUNTAINS

Come join other ADK members on a 5 day Hut to Hut trip in the beautiful White Mountains of New Hampshire. Our days will average 6 to 8 miles of rugged hiking. Daily elevation gains of over 2000 feet. We will spend our evenings in the high huts where we will be served wonderful home style dinners and in the mornings a hearty breakfast to start the day. The trip will follow south to north along the Appalachian Trail climbing a possible 11 mountains along the route. We will hike to Mizpah Spring, Lakes of the Clouds, and Madison Spring Huts. Cost includes lodging, transportation to and from trail head, and all breakfasts and dinners.

Outing Cost:
The cost will be $576.00 per participant.

Payment Policy:
A deposit of $300.00 is due at time of registration. The remaining balance of $276.00 is due no later than April 1, 2012..

Cancellation Policy:
If you need to cancel the trip at any time, an $85.00 ADK registration fee is non-refundable. The balance of the deposit is fully refundable up to April 1, 2012. After April 1, 2012, no refunds are possible unless your space can be filled from a waiting list. However, if ADK cancels the trip or if in the opinion of the leader, this trip is not for you, the full amount will be refunded.

ITINERARY

Day 1, Saturday, August 11, 2012
Travel day to Pinkham Notch Visitor Center and Joe Dodge Lodge. Meet in the living room 5:00 PM for Introductions and room assignments. Dinner will be at 6:00PM.

Day 2, Sunday, August 12, 2012
Meet for Breakfast at 7 AM. The Shuttle will take us to the trailhead at Crawford Notch. We will hike to Mizpah via the Crawford Path and Mizpah Cutoff. Distance 2.5 miles. Time about 2 hours. Dinner 6PM

Day 3, Monday, August 13, 2012
Breakfast will be at 7AM. Hike to Lakes-of -the-Clouds Hut via the Crawford Path including 4 summits, Mt.Pierce, Eisenhower, Franklin and Monroe. Distance 5 miles. Time about 5 hours. If the weather and muscles permit, hikers may want to hike to the summit of Mt. Washington.

Day 4, Tuesday, August 14, 2012
Breakfast will be at 7AM. Hike to Madison Hut via the Gulfside trail. Including once again 4 summits, Clay, Jefferson, Adams and Madison. You can do all or some of the summits. Distance 7-9 miles. Time about 7-9 hours. This will be the most physically challenging day! Dinner at 6PM

Day 5, Wednesday, August 15, 2012
Breakfast will be at 7AM. Spend the day at the Madison Hut and enjoy the day resting, discovering the area or hiking the Summits again or those you missed yesterday. There are many options. Dinner at 6:00PM

Day 6, Thursday, August 16, 2012
Breakfast will be at 7:00AM. The hike begins behind the Madison Hut, up and over Madison to the Osgood Trail to the Osgood cut-off, to the Madison Gulf Trail to the Auto Road. Crossing over the auto road the trail becomes the Old Jackson Trail. Then in 2 miles to were this all began- Pinkham Notch.

Day 7, Saturday, August 17, 2012
Breakfast at 7:00 AM and our final farewells.
