AN ADIRONDACK EXPERIENCE
July 8 - 14, 2012
$842

Dick Lightcap, Trip Leader

adirondack high peaksTRIP CANCELLED

While most people associate the Adirondacks with strenuous mountain climbing, there is another face to this fantastic region.  It consists of casual hiking - on somewhat level terrain – to such places as waterfalls, lakes, scenic views and historic sites – all within a short distance to hike.

For two days we will take advantage of the trails and activities of the Heart Lake Property, while car-pooling to more distant venues for the other three days.  By car-pooling we will avoid renting a van, so hopefully there will be enough participants who will be willing to drive;  they will be reimbursed for gas.  Otherwise we will be confined to the area around the Loj.

For folks who have never been to this High Peaks region, or haven’t been there in a long time, you will appreciate this 5-day adventure.  Folks who frequently visit this area know that they will enjoy returning, especially to some places that they have not previously visited.

Some members may not wish to attend all of the hikes or perhaps some may wish to experience just part of a hike.  This is possible just as long as someone accompanies them while returning.  On the other hand, while the group will be doing relatively short hikes, there will be some opportunities for folks to hike longer trails on their own.

Outing Cost:  $842
