Departure times are from the KOA. For special arrangements contact the
trip leader.
Paddlers must have own canoe or kayak, basic paddling/ swimming skills,
and wear a NYS-approved PFD (personal flotation device).
Leaders make all trip decisions and have the final decision on
participant preparedness and ability. Group safety and enjoyment are
major objectives.

1.
Hike: Stag Brook Trail. (C– Easy pace)
Walk a ski trail from a Whiteface parking lot into the woods, to and up
along Stag Brook coming out at the midstation. Easy return.
Depart 3:00, return 5:00.

Hike: Baxter Mountain, 2440 ft. (C- Easy pace) FULL
See all the work done to improve this popular trail. Funded by
Hurricane Mountain Chapter, Keene Valley Chapter, and the Mountaineer,
and work done by ADK crew. Short, easy hike. Depart 3:00, return
5:30.

Connery Pond to Whiteface Landing (C- Easy pace) FULL-
2nd section added
An easy hike from Route 86, around Connery Pond and up the trail to
Whiteface Landing. Views of Lake Placid are lovely. Depart
3:00, return 5:30. 5 miles RT.

4. Hike:
Flume Knob and Bear Den (B – Easy Pace) FULL
Hike up above the
kid’s ski trail on Whiteface, featuring wonderful views,
cascading water, and fall leaves. 5 miles RT. Depart 3:00, return

Paddle: Lake Everest and W. Branch Ausable River FULL
Launch at Wilmington town beach and paddle in flatwater upstream as far
as navigable. Nice views of Marble, Lookout, Esther and
Whiteface. Depart 3:00, return 5:00.

Paddle: West Branch Ausable River or Mirror Lake
If enough water, we’ll run the river from the Iron Bridge in Lake
Placid to the Bridge on River Road and Rt. 86. If not, paddle on
Mirror Lake doing a nice easy circuit, a new way to look at the village

7. Bike:
Wilmington Back Roads (B Moderate) Enjoy astonishing
vistas as we bicycle the back roads around Wilmington, the Jays and the
Ausable area. 30-32 miles, moderate pace, 2 or 3 longish
hills (can be walked). Water/rest/snack stops and the possibility
of spotting cars. Helmets required. Depart: 9:30, return
approximately 2:30; Maximum: 15. Leader: Bert Yost (LEADER CHANGE)
8.
Hike: Grace (East Dix, 4012 ft.) and Carson (South Dix, 4060 ft.)
(A - Moderate) FULL From Route 73 we
will hike along forest
paths to base of Grace slide and ascend to the summit. Spectacular
views across Champlain Valley. Hike another mile to summit of
Carson Peak and retrace route. Distance 12 miles,
Ascent: 3105 feet. Depart 7:30, return 5:30.

Beginning at the Loj, with an ascent of
2900 feet. Wonderful views from
second highest peak in New York. 8 mile RT Depart 8:30, return

Hike: Ecological Hike up Mount Colden, 4714 ft. (A -
Strenuous.) FULL Hike with a trained
Adirondack High Peaks
Summit Steward up this rugged and spectacular mountain. We will examine
the rich plant diversity and the work of the Summit Steward Program on
both the main and NW summits. Total round-trip distance: 14
miles. Total ascent: 2,600’. Depart: 7
