11.  Hike:  Jay Mountain, 3600 ft.  (A - moderate Pace)  FULL Climb this scenic mountain by a well-used herd path. Once on the ridge we weave up and down through open rocks and wooded areas for 1.5 mi to reach the highest point.  Outstanding views in all directions.  6.1 miles, 2400 ft. ascent.  Depart 9:00, return 4:30.  Leader:  Joe Bogardus

12.  Hike: Sentinel Mountain, 3838 ft. Bushwhack (A – Fast Pace)  Largest Mountain in the Sentinel Range, bushwhack from Bartlett Road.  Depart, 8:30, return 4:30.

13.  Hike:  Kilburn Slide, 3867 ft.     ( B – Moderate)  Starting at Monument Falls on the road between Whiteface and Wilmington, going up an old road bed to a stream bed, and then up the slide. Steep in places but the views are well worth it. Return the same route. 3 miles RT, 1000 ft. ascent. Depart 9:30, return 5:00. Leader:  Dean Baker

14.  Hike:  Esther Mountain, 4240 ft.  (B+ - moderate pace)  FULL Starting at the Atmospheric Sciences Research Center, climb Marble Mt. old ski lift and join the Wilmington trail to the turn off to unmarked Esther trail.  About 5 miles RT.  Depart 9:00, return 4:00.  Leader:  Susie Becker

15.  Hike:  Eagle Eyrie via Whiteface Landing  (C+ -  Moderate)  A rock outcrop on the side of Whiteface. Starting at Connery Pond off Rt 86, to Whiteface Landing, then following a trail around Lake Placid to Echo Bay. Turning off on the Eagle Eyrie trail , the last .8 mile is very steep climbing for about 800 feet.  Round trip 9.5 miles, 980 feet ascent.  Depart 9:00, return 4:30.  Leaders:  Bill and Ginger Dora

16.  Hike:  Catamount Mountain, 3185 ft.  (B - Moderate)  Nice woodsy walk to first rocky outcrop, cairns mark trail, one chimney scramble.  Superb views in all directions.  3.6 mile RT.  Depart 9:00, return  4:00.

17.  Hike:  Spread Eagle-Hopkins Mountain. Traverse  3183 ft.  (B – Easy )  From the Rooster Comb parking lot go up the Ranney trail and over Spread Eagle and Hopkins. Then down the back roads to the Gaffneys for refreshments at their home on Phelps Brook Lane.  5 miles total.  Depart 9:00, return 5:00.  Leaders:  Susan and Dick Gaffney
18.  Hike:  Poke-O -Moonshine Mountain  (C+ - Moderate)  Only 2 miles RT, this is a steep climb to a fire tower and open summit with great views. Depart 9:00, return 3:30.  Leader:  David Thomas-Train


19.  Hike:  Mt. Van Hoevenberg,  2860 Ft. (C+ - Moderate)  Traverse from South Meadow Road 2.1 mi. to summit with views of  Marcy, Algonquin, Porter, and Giant. Continue on down the N. side .8 mile to the Bobsled Run and down the spectator walkway to the parking lot. Cars will be spotted there.  3.8 mile traverse. Ascent 740 ft. Depart 9:00, return 4:00. 20.  Hike:  Peaked Mountain, 3222 Ft. (C+ - Moderate)  Bushwhack near Weston Mt. from Crow Clearing along Gulf Brook.  Depart 9:00, return 4:00.  Leader:  Peter Biesemeyer

21.  Hike:  Baxter Mountain, 2440 ft. (C+ - Moderate)
Slightly longer and steeper than Friday’s hike (#2) with the approach via the Upham Trail from Keene Valley. Return down to the Beede Road. Nice views of the Great Range, Giant, and Keene Valley.  3.3 miles total. Depart: 9:00, return 5:00.  Leaders:  Martha Honeywell and Susie Becker

22.  Hike:  Cooper Kiln Pond  (C+ - Moderate)  Trail starts on Gillespie Road just past Whiteface Mountain toll-gate, follows old tote road on north side of Morgan Mountain and descends to pond and lean-to at 2.7 miles. If transportation has been arranged, continue past pond downhill to trail’s end at Bonnieview Rd, 5.9 miles. Ascent 900 ft.  Depart 9:30, return 4:00.  Leader:  Don McLaughlin

23.  Hike: Silver Lake Mountain & Bog (C - Easy)  The 2374 ft. mountain is a 1.8 mile RT with  lovely open views and rocky sections along the way. The bog, 2.5 mile RT is a Nature Conservancy preserve with marked stops interpreting the ecology and plant life. Depart 9:00, return 4:00. Leaders:  Joy & Dick Harvey

24.  Hike:  Giant’s Nubble, 2760 ft.  (C-Moderate)  This small rocky knob at the end of the SW ridge of Giant Mountain offers nice views of Giant’s slides and St. Huberts. After spotting cars, we will be going up the Zander Scott trail and then down the Roaring Brook trail, 4 miles RT.   Depart 9:00, return 3:00.
