Missouri River Canoe Camping &Hiking, Montana
May 16-22, 2011
$1000

Mary Coffin, Leader

Paddle and Hike the Missouri River (Missouri Breaks National Monument) much as Lewis and Clark did 200 years ago. Start at Coal Banks Landing and float beneath fantastic sandstone cliffs and white stone spires that 19th Century explorers compared to Europe's finest cathedrals.

The Missouri River offers a range of daily route options from very easy to moderate. We paddle down stream. On several days we will have the opportunity to explore on foot/hike.

Travel in 17-foot Old Town Tripper canoes, which hold two to three paddlers, plus all necessary gear. An average day's travel consists of 2-5 hours of paddling depending on the wind and weather. Travel distances run 10 to 14 miles per day.
