Spring Outing 2005 was held on Long Island and was a great success. 2005 web site This outing is usually held the third week of June and features hiking, paddling and recreational sites near the hosting chapter's area of New York State. In past years it has been held in the Catskills, Mid-Hudson area, lower New England and Long Island. Seasonal Outings only occur when chapters volunteer  as host. To host a Spring or Fall Outing contact ADK or the Outings Committee. It is an opportunity for a chapter to showcase hiking, paddling and recreational resources in its area of NYS. There is a handbook for each outing that is updated annually so no new host chapter does not need to start from scratch and the Outings Committee will appoint a liaison to assist.
